Recording Setup

Here’s a page for the truly geeky folks out there who wonder how we get our sound. This is where we list the equipment we use to produce the Radio Adventures Of Dr. Floyd.

Hood Avenue Studios

This is our main base of operations, where 99% of the recording for the show is done. A small 1 Bedroom Apartment in the shadows of Warner Brothers Studios. No special soundbooth or anything. We record right in the living room.

Portable Recording Set-up

We also use a portable recording setup to record special guests out of the stuido. We pride ourselves in being able to set-up our portable studio and record voices as long as things are quiet.

Hosting

The best web hosting service in the WORLD is Hostbaby! Check them out at www.HostBaby.com. If you’re with anyone else, you’re missing out!

Podcast Feed

To make our feed we once used the program iBlog, but it’s limitations compelled us to switch. We now use Potion Factory’s PodcastMaker. It’s slick, does all we need and the creators are easy to get ahold of! We use this for both our Audio and Video Podcast Feeds.

Sound Effects

We are often asked where we get the Sound Effects we use for our show. Most of the time we try to Foley, or create our own, sound effects. We also have a few Royalty Free Sound Effects CDs. When these don’t have what we need however, we immediately head over to SoundDogs.com. It has a huge selection of sound effect for really reasonable prices! If you need a sound effect, SoundDogs.com has it!
